Hull Council Announces Essential Repairs for Pickering Road

Hull City Council is preparing to begin a carriageway resurfacing scheme on Pickering Road, west Hull.

The scheme is vital to repair sections of the carriageway on Pickering Road, between Boothferry Road and Anlaby Road, which are showing signs of deterioration.

Works will include reconstructing and resurfacing the road, repainting road markings and replacing gully covers to ensure the route provides a safe, even surface for all users, with improved grip and skid resistance.

Work will start on Tuesday 1 September and is planned to be completed by Monday 12 October, weather permitting.

To maintain safety and minimise disruption for residents and businesses, the scheme will be delivered in two phases:

• No. 35 to No. 45 Pickering Road: Tuesday 1 September to Friday 18 September

• No. 139 to No. 145 Pickering Road (outside Warner's Gym): Monday 21 September to Monday 12 October

These sections of the road will be closed during construction.

Throughout the scheme, access will be maintained for residents, bin collections will continue as normal and emergency access will be maintained where possible.

Access to the Warner's Gym car park will be maintained throughout the works. 

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council said:

These two sections of the carriageway are showing signs of deterioration, so it's important that we carry out these essential repairs.

"This work will help futureproof our road network, improve safety for all users and maintain reliable access for residents, Peter Pan Park visitors and members of Peter Pan parkrun."

The scheme will be carried out by PBS Construction Ltd on behalf of the council.
