Tchaikovsky (10%)
JS Bach (11%)
Chopin (13%)
Verdi (12%)
Handel (9%)
Wagner (8%)

Sarah Bardwell, Managing Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, said: βOur recent research shows that 56% of people in Hull want to discover more orchestral music - which is brilliant news to receive as we prepare to celebrate 80 years of the RPO. Since our residency began in 2014, we've built a real connection with audiences and communities in the city, and this season continues that with a great range of orchestral concerts for all ages.β
The findings come as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra prepares to launch its 80th anniversary concert season on 23 September. The season will include 57 concerts across 12 UK venues, international festivals and tours, featuring new music premieres and performances celebrating the Beethoven Bicentenary. The programme will also highlight music from video games, Motown, soul, Broadway, tango, and film.
