Could you help Read Easy Hull & District change lives? Read Easy Hull & District is a completely volunteer-led local group providing free, confidential, one-to-one reading support to adults who want to improve their reading skills.
Read Easy Hull & District is currently recruiting a new Team Leader, along with other Management Team members, to help lead the already established group.
Read Easy Hull & District relies entirely on the dedication of its volunteers to provide free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for adults. Without volunteers, they wouldn't be able to reach and support people whose lives can be transformed through learning to read.
The most recent government data (The Skills for Life survey, 2011) indicates that there are 2.4m adults who cannot read or who struggle with reading.
To provide an insight into the impact volunteering can have, Reading Coach Colin Booth shares his experience:
Joining Read Easy has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Seeing adults gain the confidence and skills to read is truly inspiring and it is a privilege to be part of their journey.
‘Teaching with Read Easy is about so much more than reading words on a page; it is about helping people build confidence, independence and new opportunities in every aspect of their lives.
‘Every Reader progresses at their own pace, and celebrating each achievement, no matter how small, is incredibly fulfilling.
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming a volunteer with Read Easy. The training and support are excellent and knowing that I can make a genuine difference in someone’s life makes every session worthwhile. I would encourage anyone who wants to give back to their community in a meaningful way to consider joining Read Easy.
‘Together we can help change lives, one Reader at a time.
